Pellet Stoves
Palazzetti was established in Italy in 1954, at the time it was in the business of processing special cements. By 1972 it entered into the prefabrication of fireplaces and soon became the recipient of many awards from the most prestigious European Institutes. In 1992, they were the first to introduce dual-combustion technology that reduces emissions of carbon monoxide in the air and increases the heat efficiency of the fireplace with their production of the Ecofire: the pellet-burning stove.
The company actively supports numerous ecological projects including The World Wildlife Federation as well as The Association of the increase in Wood Plantations and for Environmental Improvement. In 1994 they were the first Italian manufacturers of technology with the lowest harmful emission of carbon monoxide.
This ecological culture is still maintained strongly to this day with their consistent commitment to R&D in their quest to further increase efficiency and as a result, reduce emissions.
Conventional Stoves
At Honeystone House, we will only sell stoves that are constructed from top grade cast iron to ensure a life time of dependable service. Cast iron can retain and radiate heat long after the fuel in the stove has expired. It is also considered to be more durable under high temperatures and can be moulded into many different textures and designs that will appeal to the fans of contemporary design to those who prefer the rustic traditional look.
The stoves we sell are designed and made in their countries of origin, they do not out-source to other countries where cheap labour and the environment is so readily available and exploited. It is also the only way that the manufacturers can guarantee the integrity of the materials used, especially the quality of the cast iron itself.
Stoves of different sizes throw out great heat, however, advise may be needed on which size stove will suit the size of your room or in the case of a boiler stove, your complete domestics hot water and central heating needs.
Stoves and the environment
We all have an obligation to treat our natural and beautiful world with the absolute respect it deserves. Our everyday activities as individuals put some element of a strain on the environment. Therefore we need to make informed energy decisions so that we can minimise our impact on the environment for ourselves and for the future. An efficient stove can help to curb that strain and by using cleaner fuels in your stove you can help things even further. By using wood from a sustainable source we can create heat energy in a way that is highly efficient – a modern electricity generating power station is in fact 20% less efficient at producing energy than a woodburning stove.
Wood is also the only 'zero rated' fuel available, the following chart formulated by The Carbon Trust gives examples of how much CO2 is emitted from the average family home.
| Fuel | CO2 per week |
|---|---|
| Electricity | 128 Kg |
| Coal | 116 Kg |
| Oil | 88 Kg |
| Gas | 63 Kg |
| Coal/Wood 50% mix | 58 Kg |
| Wood | ZERO Kg |
